John Abraham has acquired the Goa Aces for the Indian Racing Festival of 2024, following in the footsteps of other well-known team owners. Eight teams will compete in the event, which runs from August to November 2024 and includes a historic night race in Chennai. Abraham wants to raise Goa’s profile in the world of motorsports.

John Abraham, the acclaimed Bollywood actor known for his love of speed and thrill, has acquired ownership of the Goa Aces by JA Racing. This team is set to compete in the Indian Racing Festival (IRF) 2024, organized by Racing Promotions Private Limited (RPPL). The festival aims to engage and expand the growing motorsport fan base in India, running from August 24 to November 17.

The Indian Racing Festival, now in its third edition, will feature eight city-based teams from Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Goa, Kochi, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata. These teams will compete fiercely for the championship title, with the festival also introducing a groundbreaking night race on a street circuit in Chennai, marking a historic first for Indian motorsport events. Among the notable team owners joining John Abraham are former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly and actor Arjun Kapoor, adding star power and diverse fan engagement to the festival.

John Abraham, already a known figure in the Indian sports landscape as the owner of NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League, expressed his enthusiasm for this new venture. “I’ve always been captivated by fast cars and bikes, and I’ve longed to be part of this thrilling sport as it makes new strides in our country. I am thankful to the IRF team and as owner of Goa Aces, I’m excited about the opportunity to help build a robust motorsports ecosystem in Goa and, with the Indian Racing Festival, uncover new talent that can shine on the global stage in the near future,” said Abraham.

His involvement is expected to bring significant attention to the Goa Aces and the festival as a whole. His passion for motorsports and commitment to fostering new talent align perfectly with the goals of the IRF. The festival’s unique format and inclusive approach make it a standout event in the global motorsport calendar.

Sourav Ganguly, who became the owner of the Kolkata Royal Tigers Racing team last month, and Arjun Kapoor, who owns the Speed Demons Delhi team, will also be competing in this event. Ganguly, known for his strategic acumen and leadership skills on the cricket field, is expected to bring a competitive edge to his team, while Kapoor’s presence adds another layer of glamour and excitement to the event.

The involvement of these high-profile personalities is poised to significantly boost the festival’s popularity and visibility. “Having John Abraham as the owner of Goa Aces is poised to unlock immense potential for developing Goa into a premier motorsports venue. This strategic move promises to also elevate Goa’s status in the motorsports world and expand its appeal beyond traditional racing circles,” said Akhilesh Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director of RPPL.

The Indian Racing League is India’s only 4-wheel racing league and is recognized as the world’s first gender-neutral racing championship series. The festival follows the Formula 4 format, an open-wheel, single-seater racing category designed for junior drivers. This format represents the first step of the ladder for aspiring racing drivers transitioning from karting to single-seater racing.

The introduction of a night race on a street circuit in Chennai adds a new dimension to the festival, promising an electrifying experience for both drivers and spectators. This innovation is expected to set new standards in Indian motorsport, attracting fans and participants from around the world.

As the festival approaches, excitement is building among motorsport enthusiasts in India and beyond. With John Abraham, Sourav Ganguly, and Arjun Kapoor at the helm of their respective teams, the Indian Racing Festival 2024 promises to be an event filled with high-octane action, strategic battles, and groundbreaking moments. The festival’s inclusive approach, innovative format, and star-studded lineup make it a must-watch event, heralding a new era for motorsport in India.
