With rumors about Daniel Ricciardo’s future in Formula 1 continuing, the driver has revealed his plans.

Daniel Ricciardo, the Australian F1 driver currently with Visa Cash App RB, faces a crucial juncture in his career as his contract is set to expire at the end of this season. The pressure is mounting for him to prove he deserves a seat in the competitive world of Formula 1, whether that be with his current team or elsewhere. Despite entering the 2024 season with a positive outlook, Ricciardo has struggled to maintain consistency, often finding himself overshadowed by his teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, who recently secured a contract extension.

Ricciardo’s talent has only occasionally shone through this year, most notably during the Miami sprint race where he delivered an outstanding performance to finish in fourth place. However, such impressive displays have been rare, contributing to the uncertainty surrounding his future in the sport.

Amid these challenges, Ricciardo’s name has been linked with a potential return to Red Bull, a team he left six years ago to join Renault. This speculation has been fueled by Sergio Perez’s difficulties at Red Bull. Despite the rumors, Ricciardo remains focused on enhancing his own performances. He has managed to finish in the points in only two grands prix so far this season, which underscores the need for improvement.

Adding to the pressure, reserve driver Liam Lawson is being touted as a potential replacement for Ricciardo. Nevertheless, Ricciardo is determined not to let this speculation distract him. He emphasizes the importance of taking things as they come, stating, “You just can’t afford to look too far ahead. Planning ahead in this sport is not the right thing to do, so it’s race by race.”

Ricciardo stresses the importance of being fully present and giving his all each day. He acknowledges that in the world of Formula 1, a driver is often judged by their most recent performance. “You can have five bad races and then you have this amazing result, and everyone’s like: ‘Well, we knew that they could do it,'” he explains. This mindset drives Ricciardo as he navigates the remaining races of the season, determined to showcase his capabilities and secure his future in Formula 1.
