The Monaco Grand Prix was red-flagged following a first-lap collision involving Sergio Perez and both Haas drivers.

The Monaco Grand Prix faced immediate chaos with a first-lap red flag following a massive crash involving Sergio Perez and Haas drivers Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg.

As the drivers ascended towards Casino Square, Magnussen clipped Perez’s Red Bull, sending him crashing into the barrier at high speed. Perez’s car was then dragged sideways down the track, with Hulkenberg getting caught in the melee. The incident left Perez’s RB20 severely damaged, with its wheels torn off, though the driver was protected by the survival cell.

The race was promptly red-flagged to clear the debris. Carlos Sainz also faced trouble, dropping from third to 16th due to a puncture and an off-track excursion at Casino Square, but he will restart in third place.

The red flag period is expected to be extended due to necessary barrier repairs. At the time of the stoppage, Charles Leclerc was leading, followed by Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, George Russell, Max Verstappen, and Lewis Hamilton.

Replays revealed another incident at Portier involving Alpine teammates Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly. Ocon’s aggressive move up the inside led to contact with Gasly, causing Ocon’s car to go airborne and resulting in his retirement. A frustrated Gasly questioned why he was attacked by his teammate.

The Monaco GP continues under dramatic circumstances, setting the stage for a tense restart.
