McLaren is set to feature a vibrant, one-time Ayrton Senna-inspired livery in yellow, green, and blue for this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix.

McLaren is set to honor the legendary Ayrton Senna at this weekend’s Monaco Grand Prix with a stunning, one-off livery inspired by his iconic helmet. The vibrant yellow, green, and blue design celebrates the Brazilian driver’s incredible racing legacy.
Senna, a three-time world champion, remains McLaren’s most successful driver. Between 1988 and 1993, he secured 35 of his 41 Grand Prix victories, along with three drivers’ titles and four constructors’ championships. Monaco holds a special place in Senna’s legacy, as he triumphed there six times, including five consecutive wins starting in 1989. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Senna’s passing, and McLaren has chosen to commemorate his life and achievements at the iconic Monte Carlo track.

The tribute extends beyond the car’s livery. McLaren’s team members will wear Senna-inspired gear throughout the weekend, with drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri sporting bespoke overalls. The livery is a collaboration with Senna Global and McLaren’s partner OKX. Additionally, McLaren Automotive has unveiled a unique version of the McLaren Senna road car, featuring a hand-painted livery by McLaren Special Operations that includes dot matrix portraits of Senna.
“The team is proud to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary life and racing legacy of Ayrton Senna through this McLaren livery,” said McLaren CEO Zak Brown. “Senna remains revered as Formula 1’s greatest icon and McLaren’s most decorated driver. His impact on McLaren is enormous, not only through his racing record but also his presence within the team and now his legacy. It’s an honor to race for him at his most successful circuit in his green, yellow, and blue colors. With it being the 30th anniversary of his passing, we are choosing to celebrate his life at one of his favorite and most successful places to race, Monaco. We look forward to racing in this vibrant and beautiful livery this weekend.”

Senna’s niece, Bianca Senna of Senna Global, expressed her pride in the tribute. “It’s an honor to recognize Ayrton through these liveries in collaboration with both McLaren Racing and McLaren Automotive. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate his life and legacy through his iconic colors. McLaren meant a lot to him, and together they achieved great success, much of which he is still remembered for today. It will be special to see it race the streets of Monaco, a circuit that gave him so much joy and many triumphs.”
This isn’t McLaren’s first special livery for Monaco. In 2021, they showcased the iconic blue and orange colors of Gulf Oil, with Norris finishing on the podium. Last year, they featured a ‘Triple Crown’ livery in papaya, white, and black as part of their 60th anniversary celebrations.
The Senna-inspired livery will make its debut on the track during the first practice session in Monaco on Friday, setting the stage for a weekend of celebration and remembrance for one of Formula 1’s greatest legends.
