Mitch Evans won Saturday’s Formula E race in Shanghai for Jaguar, beating Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein in an exciting final phase. Nick Cassidy, also in a Jaguar, finished third. Jean-Eric Vergne initially led from pole, but Wehrlein moved up to second and then took the lead on lap 2. Robin Frijns briefly led on lap 3 before Evans took control on lap 8. Nyck de Vries led for a while on lap 10 but dropped back as instructed.

Edo Mortara retired after a collision, and yellow flags appeared due to debris from another incident. By lap 20, the leading pack included Evans, Felix da Costa, Dennis, and Cassidy behind Wehrlein. Evans regained the lead on lap 23 and after a fierce battle, passed Wehrlein on the final lap to secure victory. Cassidy finished third, Rowland fourth, and Felix da Costa fifth.

In the overall standings, Wehrlein closed the gap on leader Cassidy. Evans moved up to fourth, and Jaguar extended its lead in the team standings, followed by Porsche, Nissan, and DS Penske. The next race in Shanghai starts at 9 a.m. (CEST) on Sunday.
