2019 Rally Champion Chetan Shivram hosted a thrilling autocross at Gunjur, attracting numerous off-road racers.

Bengaluru’s Gunjur track was a spectacle of speed and dust this weekend, as off-road enthusiasts defied the scorching sun to push their vehicles to the limit. The Unite off-road racetrack buzzed with energy, hosting the inaugural edition of a thrilling motorsport event.

The adrenaline-fueled ‘Time Attack Showdown’ kicked off the festivities, challenging drivers from novices to pros to master the dirt track, while the ‘Clash of the Moto Clans’ brought a competitive edge with ten teams vying for glory.

Chetan Shivram Motorsports, helmed by the 2019 Indian National Rally champion, brought this motorsport extravaganza to life. The event marked a new chapter in Indian motorsports, offering a platform for racers to showcase their skills on a compact, yet challenging 2 km dirt course.

Chetan Shivram, the visionary behind the wheel, shared his insights, “Autocross is where it all begins, the foundation of motorsports. It’s accessible, intense, and now, thanks to our franchise-based league, it’s as competitive and thrilling as any premier sport.”

The Bangalore event was a melting pot of talent, with seasoned racers tuning their machines alongside newcomers eager to make their mark. The event’s success was evident in the participation of nearly 230 racers, signalling a bright future for motorsports in India.

Local racing stalwart Dhruva Chandrasekhar, owner of DC Motorsports, and rising star Nikita Takle were among the many who left their mark on the track. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Tarushi Vikram, transitioning from go-karting to rallying, represented the youthful spirit driving the sport forward.

Dean Mascarenhas of Ammyfied Racing clinched the title of Fastest Driver, continuing his team’s winning streak from the Mysore race. His triumph underscored the event’s significance, “The exposure we’re gaining is unprecedented. With ten teams competing, we’re witnessing the evolution of motorsports in India.”

This event is just the beginning, with plans to expand and strengthen the league, making motorsports more visible and accessible than ever before. The engines have roared to life, and the race for supremacy has just begun.
