In order to host the Indian Grand Prix from 2025 to 2027, MotoGP has negotiated a new deal with the government of Uttar Pradesh. With this new agreement, India will rejoin the MotoGP schedule for the following year after being removed from it this year for “operational considerations” and “weather conditions” that were not suitable.

The announcement from Dorna Sports, the organization that oversees MotoGP, noticeably left out any reference to Fairstreet Sports, the Noida-based business that organized the first-ever Indian Grand Prix in 2023. Throughout the occasion, Fairstreet was criticized for a number of organizational problems and its inexperience. Furthermore, the 2024 event that had been slated for September 22 was canceled due to nonpayment of the entire hosting fee, which Fairstreet attributed to the general elections in India.
Whether the Uttar Pradesh government will designate a new promoter for the event in accordance with the revised agreement with Dorna is still to be determined.
According to Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, “We are very happy to announce this new agreement made directly with the government of Uttar Pradesh.” “It is wonderful we are able to continue building that together into the future. The first Indian Grand Prix was a major success and brought a great deal of value to both MotoGP and our host region of Uttar Pradesh.”

Ezpeleta highlighted India’s market potential for MotoGP, pointing to the nation’s well-established racing fan base and the large number of two-wheeled vehicles that are driven on a daily basis. “India is a crucial market for MotoGP, as it has a well-established and healthy audience for the racing, which we are confident we can grow significantly,” the speaker stated. “We are thrilled to be collaborating directly with the Uttar Pradesh government to bring MotoGP back to India for the next three seasons, along with Buddh International Circuit in Uttar Pradesh.”
According to the new agreement, MotoGP will return to the Buddh International Circuit until 2027. Following the customary opening round in Qatar, India is scheduled to host the second round of the 2025 season. The move from September to March is intended to lessen the impact of weather-related problems that riders experienced at the last event.

The new agreement is a component of a larger plan to increase India’s visibility in the global motorsport scene. The government of Uttar Pradesh is eager to capitalize on the global visibility that MotoGP provides in order to encourage travel and investment in the region. After hosting Formula 1 races from 2011 to 2013, the Buddh International Circuit is currently undergoing renovations to comply with MotoGP regulations, guaranteeing an excellent experience for both riders and spectators.
The event’s expected economic benefits are a source of optimism for local businesses and stakeholders. An increase in demand is anticipated for lodging, dining, and other services, which will support the region’s economic expansion. Community engagement initiatives are part of the partnership between MotoGP and the state government, which aims to motivate the upcoming generation of Indian racers and motorsport fans.
With this new partnership, MotoGP and the Uttar Pradesh government hope to give Indian motorsport enthusiasts an exciting future and expand the sport’s presence in one of the biggest two-wheeled vehicle markets globally. With a goal of giving every participant an experience they will not soon forget, excitement is growing as plans are put into place for the 2025 event.
